Newport 8.5x11 Washi Scrapbook
The Icon, Reimagined in Japanese Washi
The photo album that made Kolo famous—now reinterpreted in the delicate strength of traditional Japanese Washi paper. The Newport 8.5 x 11 Washi Scrapbook marries timeless function with quiet poetry, honoring both the precision of design and the soul of craftsmanship.
Each cover is wrapped in Japanese Washi—celebrated for its lightweight texture, resilience, and graceful tactility. No cover window interrupts the surface; instead, the pure material and pattern speak for themselves, inspired by centuries of printmaking, textiles, and Japanese paper arts.
Inside, acid-free pages bound with cloth hinges lie flat for optimal presentation. The Chicago screw-post binding, finished in chrome-colored brass, allows pages to be easily added, reordered, or removed—expandable up to 40 or even 50 sheets (80 to 100 pages). The proportions are ideal for portfolios, commemorations, and creative storytelling in all forms.
Photos and elements are mounted with archival photo corners or double-sided tape, allowing each spread to unfold with intention—images paired with hand lettering, pressed botanicals, invitations, or sketches.
For the ultimate presentation, the Newport 8.5 x 11 fits seamlessly into the Kolo Havana Large Archive Box—a museum-quality enclosure for the most treasured projects.
Available in a curated range of Washi prints and patterns. Archival. Acid-free. Crafted to endure.
Backed by the Kolo Guarantee.
Page Note:
Patchwork Brown, Sakura Branch Rust, Print Patchwork Navy, Gourd Ecru, and Sakura Petal Rust include Black pages with matching Black end-leaves. All other colors feature Soft-White archival pages and end-leaves.
